what will those young conservatives think of next?

the same groups that hold the anti-affirmative action bake sales now want to limit what profs can say in the classroom, by introducing a "student bill of rights" that entitles students access to "viewpoint neutral" classes in an atmosphere "free of intimidation".

look, sure it's annoying if your biochem prof has some lame anecdote about bush, but seriously. you can't say make a huge stink about having a right to comment on affirmative action and abortion and then say that you're professors have to suck it up and be "viewpoint neutral". sure faculty members need to be respectful, but that doesn't mean that they need to be silenced.

all of this rhetorical bullshit that plays off the "PC hysteria" of the early nineties seriously bugs me. eventually we're not going to be able to talk about evolution on college campuses because it offends someone? i'll have to give a student an A on a paper arguing that the earth is 5000 years old because they use correct grammar?
