when i'm a parent
went to the pantry, favorite new haven brunch locale, today. as i was waiting for my friends, i listened in on this couple and their ~6 year old kid. at one point the kid looked up and said, "look, there's a rainbow on the wall". the mom replied, "that's because the window acts as a prism and when the light comes through it, it diffracts and breaks the light up into all of its component colors".
it was also like 8 degrees outside. dennis showed up in shorts.
i really wish i had my digital camera with me, since waiting in line for 30 minutes (did i mention the pantry is a popular brunch establishment) afforded many (now missed) photo opportunities.
am going antique shopping this afternoon.
