i read in the weekly world news this week that man is descending back into apes (they cited rap music and football as examples). now this article in the ny times shows that plague is loose among us. (well, not really, but it sounds more dramatic when you way it that way).

For example:

Health officials say 10 to 20 people in the United States contract plague each year, usually through infected fleas or rodents. The plague can be treated with antibiotics, but about one in seven U.S. cases is fatal.
