students vote down yale union

results of yesterday's vote on whether or not grad students want GESO to represent them as their union:

YES : 651
NO: 694
WRITE-IN (Union YES, GESO NO): 27
CHALLENGED BALLOTS (not on voting rolls, are being counted today): 80

This means that almost 1500 of the 2100 eligible grad students on campus voted. That's a 70% turnout!

now for a few more numbers

members voting: ~750
non-members voting: ~650

This means that, assuming all of the non-members voted, a good chunk of members voted NO. Maybe this orgainzation has more problems than even i realized.
