are MP3s destroying the album?
while i agree with some of van backel's fears about the "death of the album", i can't get that worried. the people who want the whole thing will continue to buy it, while the other folks who only want to hear tracks 5,7 and 9 will, hey, only buy tracks 5,7 and 9. and what's the difference if tracks 5,7 and 9 or an entire album provide the soundscape for your life. really, isn't it a few key songs that trigger all of those great nostalgic memories?
