Conspiracy Theories Abound

A few years ago, Suzanne Jovin, a Yale senior, was stabbed on the corner where my friend Heather lives. Really creepy stuff. Her political science professor, who was later discovered to have a "high-security" position in the DoD is still the only suspect in the case, almost 4 years later. Anway, some people speculated that they had a more-than-just-mentoring relationship. Other people have speculated that, as Suzanne's senior essay advisor, Van de Velde had access to her research. The topic: ties between Al-Queda and the CIA. Apparently, her thesis had progressed from a general discussion to naming names, especially of people in the CIA. The day that she was murdered, she handed in a rough draft of her thesis to Van de Velde. Of course, like any good conspiracy theory, this one has never been proven.
