not another wasted sunday night

why i do not have cable: sunk to a new low by watching Not Another Teen Movie on one of the zillion movie channels that my parents have. sunk to another all time low when i realized that i recognized about 90% of the references in the film (hey, some of them were from the 80s).

recognize the name Lacey Chabert? not only did she have a role in Not Another Teen Movie, she also starred in Party of Five. A simple internet search also led me to her role in Hometown Legend where she plays Rachel, the strong-willed teenager who prays for a miracle and fights to keep her town and school alive. Based on the book by Jerry B. Jenkins. Who is Jerry B. Jenkins? Why, he's the author of the Left Behind Series--the popular Christian books that, among other things, cast the UN Secretary General as Satan in an all out apocalyptic battle. Kirk Cameron of Growing Pains has also appeared in a few Left Behind Movies. It's interesting that the Christians would want Lacey to star in one of their movies after appearing in a very perverse film filled with nudity and strong language where she offers to give a guy a handjob. i guess they realize she was just acting.
