my so-called vacation

am now through volume 4 (of 5) in the dvd box set of the series. it is really amazing to compare the limited vocabulary of the my so-called life actors (including the parents) with the overly-analytical dialogue that plagues dawson's creek et al. all of the ums, likes and uncomfortable pauses seem to mean something when they aren't surrounded by a jungle of words.
