ad execs get down and dirty: TiVO watch out!

From today's nyt, an article highlighting a new type of variety show geared toward the WB that incorporates product advertising into an hour of "commercial free" fun.

"Viewers hate it when they think you are trying to be deceptive with them, sneaking advertising into scenes," Mr. Davies said. "We're going to be completely open about it on our show and hopefully completely creative."

The reason why broadcasters stopped doing these types of shows in the 50s-- a desire for more control over their programming. Kraft Cheese presents: Real Cheese, a reality show from the heart of the Kraft factory.
