the new deutsche literary revolution

as i have suspected, the germans are still at least a decade behind their american counterparts.

The book attempts to show the clinginess, coziness and slight corruption of affluent German society epitomized by the Rhineland during the 1970's and 80's. It opens with a protagonist in his early 30's who has a relationship with a girl much like himself. The relationship fails, in large part because they have been given everything, want nothing and have nothing to rebel against.
