The Future is Now. Or, How we are catching up to those tech-saavy Europeans.

Yesterday Brian and I were hanging out at Moka, the newest coffee establisment to grace the 9th square district. More and more old (mostly white) guys in suits kept coming in. Then we noticed a news camera and a couple of cops. Suddenly, I heard Mayor John Destefano's pipsqueak voice rising above the din! It was the official introduction of the smartcard to New Haven.

All of those times that you didn't have change for the parking meter- no more! When you wanted to eat at Claire's but didn't want to pay $8 to use your credit card- no more!

Oh, and we voted to go on strike yesterday.
